The Mutual of TerlKurre was a Jiralhanae alliance between one small confederacy and another that was driven out of its territory by a disastrous war against the Covenant. Representatives from the Mutual insist that TerlKurre and other combined names not be spelled with a hyphen, as that would imply that Terl and Kurre are two separate societies. However separate and fractious the two nations are, there is a carefully cultivated myth that the two are so united as to be spoken of with a single breath. Although the Mutual is larger and more powerful than any other single Jiralhanae nation, it is composed of the two weakest nations in Tartarus' coalition, and the other Jiralhanae refer to TerlKurre contemptuously as the “Two Halves Confederacy".
