Operating Forces[edit | edit source]

The majority of the UNSC Marine Corps personnel fall under the UNSC Marine Corps Forces Command (MARFORCOM), commanded by the Assistant Commandant of Operations and Planning. Under the UNSC Marine Corps Forces Command, a Marine Corps Air-to-Ground Task Force (MAGTF), assigned to a planet or system, is commanded by a Lieutenant General. The MAGTF commander oversees a Marine Corps infantry and reconnaissance division, a Marine Aviation Wing, and a Marine Logistics Brigade. A MAGTF includes a Command Combat Element (CCE), Ground Combat Element (GCE), Aviation Combat Element (ACE), and Logistics Combat Element (LCE). Under a standard MAGTF, the Lieutenant General commands the Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), a Brigadier General commands a Marine Expeditionary Brigade, and a colonel commands a Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). Under each MEF, there is one MEB and three MEUs. The units are often attached to a UNSC Navy Fleet to support their expeditionary warfare mission.

The UNSC Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command (MARFORSOCOM) is the special operations command for the UNSC Marine Corps. The command was created in 2170, following the integration of many nations into the UNSC. It holds the UNSC Marine Corps Orbital Drop Shock Troops. Commanded by a General, the MARFORSOCOM reports to the Commandant and Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps. It oversees all Shock Troop Corps, Shock Troop Divisions, and training of all ODSTs. In recent years, the MARFORCSOCOM created their own MAGTF organization including Marine Corps Special Operations Expeditionary Brigades (SOEB) and Marine Corps Special Operations Expeditionary Units (SOEU) assigned to a Shock Troop Corps.

Supporting Establishments[edit | edit source]

The Marine Corps Intelligence Force Command (MARINTFORCOM)is known to oversee all intelligence activities within the UNSC Marine Corps. The Marine Cyberspace Force (MARCYBFOR), Marine Counterintelligence Force (MARCOUNINTFOR), and Marine Cryptologic Support Force (MARCRYFOR). MARINTFORCOM provides Marine Intelligence Regiments (MARINTREM) to MAGTF units in the area with a focus on providing actionable intelligence to the deployed forces. MARINTFORCOM works closely with the UNSC Navy's Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) in supporting NAVCOM's intelligence collecting efforts.

The Marine Corps Combat Development Command (MCCDC), Marine Corps Logistics Command (MARCORLOGCOM), and Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) provide warfighting capability research, material, and personnel to supporting the Marine Corps mission. MARCORLOGCOM works directly with the UNSC Navy Logistics Command as a joint force to supporting deployed forces. The MCCDC provides the Marine Corps with successful research and development teams to help with enhancing doctrine and warfighting opportunities.

Marine Reserves[edit | edit source]

The UNSC Marine Corps Reserve (MARFORRES) is the reserve force of the Marine Corps. It is the primary expeditionary force and works alongside the UNSC Navy Reserves to protect colonies where forces are stationed.
