Yzen Bulwark
From Halo: Daybreak
The Yzen Bulwark, also known as the Yzen Faction, is a post-Covenant successor-state based around the colony of Suaboswi, and occupied territory in the Ikket'hai Bloc of the Siakar Expanse. It was led by Sovar 'Yrjaam, a young, outspoken opponent of Thel 'Vadam and his Concord of Reconciliation.
In the aftermath of the Great Schism, the Yzen Bulwark clashed with the Golden Compact during its formative years because of historical issues, with one of these engagements taking place in the Skikran Moons. With the support of the Dakhta-Ti Banking League - an independent fragment of the Ruusha Commercial Guild - they invaded the ocean-moon of Resounding Contentment. In spite of their far superior military, they would be beaten back by the colonists thanks to the superior maritime performance of their Selkies.
In the aftermath of the invasion, the Yzen Bulwark consolidated their holdings around a handful of star systems, and would largely lurk in the shadows of the larger nations around them. They continued to wage an ideological and territorial conflict with nearby Sangheili worlds and middle-core systems, in a conflict similar to the Insurrection but far more ancient and complex. However, they did no present a discernible threat to the UEG. By 2558, several of their worlds suffered from debilitating famines after being cut off from agricultural worlds that used to supply them - a relatively common problem for smaller factions with no allies in the ex-Covenant sphere.
